If I wouldn’t have the need to have two large working tables or writing desks- whatever you want to call it, it takes a lot of space in the apartment, but it is necessary for my work- I would definitely opted for secretary cabinet. I just find something so charming in them, like a piece from older times, but designed for 21st century. I would put it in the living room, maybe put some pictures on it, so it would be functional as a piece of art when it is closed; and then inside the whole new world would open- with cute typewriter or personal computer, pencils and papers, inspirational pictures, flower pot and everything else to make my work (or paying the bills) the most pleasant.
I’m really proud to have such great talents in our own country- Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc created this gorgeous secretaire in a bit scary black colour, but it still manages to have soft effect because of the curves and girly ribbon- love it. For those with smaller budget, Ikea has launched a new collection recently and a part of it is also secretary desk in white or orange colour with natural wood- also a beuatiful option.
